Terrafirma to get first overall PBA Draft pick for fourth straight year

For the fourth straight year, the franchise owned by Columbian Autocar Corporation, well Terrafirma Realty Development Corporation, gets to pick first in the PBA Rookie Draft.

This as Terrafirma Dyip will be granted the first overall pick in the upcoming draft after placing last in the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup.

Though having an identical 1-10 record with Northport, the Batang Pier defeated the Dyip 107-96 last October 24 to gain the heads-up advantage.

Back in 2017, KIA owned the first overall pick but traded it away to San Miguel for Ronald Tubid, Jay-R Reyes, Rashawn McCarthy, and the Beermen’s 2019 first-round draft. The pick ended up being Christian Standhardinger.2017-PBA-Draft-San-Miguel-Christian-Standhardinger Terrafirma to get first overall PBA Draft pick for fourth straight year Basketball News PBA - philippine sports news

Since the PBA barred the trading of the number one pick, Columbian drafted CJ Perez in 2018 and Isaac Go (2019 Gilas) and Roosevelt Adams (2019 regular) as the first overall picks.

Northport will have the honor of drafting second overall.

NLEX will have back-to-back picks at third and fourth, the former they received from Blackwater coming from the Poy Erram trade early this year.

In the trade, NLEX received Anthony Semerad, Rabeh Al Hussaini, and the rights to Blackwater’s 2020 first round and 2021 second-round picks, Blackwater got Marion Magat, Ed Daquioag, Yousef Taha, and TNT’s 2021 and 2022 first-round picks, while TNT ended up with Erram.

The rest of the eight picks will be determined after the PBA Philippine Cup playoffs.

According to Tiebreaker Times’ sources, the draft will be held online as early as this December.

An announcement on when and where applicants will give their forms is expected in the coming days.
