Matthew Wright leads PBA Bubble SP race

SMART CLARK GIGA CITY — Matthew Wright is playing the best basketball of his PBA career.

The Phoenix Fuel LPG gunner has emerged as the no.1 statistical leader inside the bubble at the end of the Philippine Cup eliminations.

The 29-year-old Fil-Canadian tallied 39.5 statistical points after 11 games in the eliminations. He led the Fuel Masters to the no. 2 seed for a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals.

Wright is second in league scoring with an average of 22.8 points, along with 5.4 rebounds, and a second-league best 6.0 assists. He scored a career-high 36 points in Phoenix’s 116-98 win over Meralco to open its campaign.

Sophomore guard Ray Parks of TNT and NorthPort big man Christian Standhardinger then round up the Top 5 spots.
