Sta. Lucia releases Tubino, three others

PSL club Sta. Lucia has opted not to renew four of its players — including two who were not able to play a single game for the team.

The Lady Realtors’ social media accounts have announced that they are letting go of Royse Tubino, Aie Gannaban, Regine Arocha, and Marist Layug.

“Your time as Lady Realtors was short but memorable to the Sta. Lucia family for sure,” read the team’s statement.

“We wish you the best in whatever is next. May you find greener pastures that will lead you to more golden moments.”

Definitely, it was a short-lived stint the quartet had for Sta. Lucia.

Tubino and Gannaban were with the Lady Realtors to start 2020.

Tubino, who is a 5-foot-9 outside hitter and is 27, was instrumental in leading Sta. Lucia to silver in the 2020 PSL Super Cup.

All in all, Tubino played five games for Sta. Lucia — including two during the short-lived 2020 Grand Prix.

Same could not be said for Arocha and Layug, who were signed back in June of 2020. They were not able to play a single game for the Lady Realtors.

The releases will pave the way for Sta. Lucia to sign former Petro Gazz Angels Jonah Sabete, Jovy Prado, and Kai Nepomuceno-Baloaloa.

The PSL, a semi-pro league, is hoping for a March start for its 2021 season.
