Bryan Bagunas continues to pour it on but Oita suffers 17th loss in V.League

Bryan Bagunas, the 12th highest scorer in Japan V.League Division 1 Men’s Tournament, was once again spectacular, Saturday afternoon.

But his Oita Miyoshi faltered against Sakai, 17-25, 25-20, 21-25, 21-25, at the Konohana Arena in Shizuoka.

The Filipino standout scattered 24 points including two blocks, and he did it on a 59.5-percent attack efficiency rate but it was not enough again as Oita suffered its 17th straight loss.

Bagunas’s partner Curtis Stockton also provided 18 markers founded on 16 spikes and two blocks in the losing cause.

Giving the spark for the Blazers was Yukika Uno with 22 points in the match that lasted 1 hour 49 minutes.

Import John Went also had 22 of his own built on 18 hits and four service aces. For comparison, the whole Weisse Adler team only had two aces.

Sakai moved to 9-8, improving a spot higher for the fifth seed.

Bagunas and Oita Miyoshi will get a new crack against the Blazers tomorrow, 2 pm, at the same arena.
