With loaded Petro Gazz, Myla Pablo no longer feels pressure

All throughout her five-year career in the Premier Volleyball League, Myla Pablo has been the ace and the face of the franchise.

From 2016-18, the 5-foot-10 spiker out of Tarlac carried the Pocari Sweat franchise to an unprecedented three-peat. Then for the 2019 season, Motolite revolved their rebuild on Pablo.

But when Motolite disbanded, the 27-year-old did not take long to find a new team, joining an already-loaded Petro Gazz team.

For her, joining the Angels will finally make her one with the team.

“‘Di ko na mafi-feel ‘yung pressure, dahil maraming maasahan sa team.

“Sana, sabay-sabay kami mas mag-improve at matuto din sa isa’t isa,” she said.

During the extended off-season, the defending Reinforced Conference champions added Grethcel Soltones, Jerrili Malabanan, Kath Arado, Ces Molina, Ivy Perez, Remy Palma, Ria Meneses, Seth Rodriguez, and Mean Mendrez. They also have holdovers like Cienne Cruz, Paneng Mercado, Chie Saet, among others.

What led Pablo to join Petro Gazz was the sense of security given to her by the team owned by Raffy Villavicencio.

“Petro Gazz kasi among other teams ang nagpakita talaga ng sincerity at sobrang naging consistent. Napakalaking factor nung management sa akin and una pa lang naramdaman ko yung willingness at pag alaga kaya alam ko I’m in good hands kasama sila.”

Despite the short stint she and her teammates had with Motolite, Pablo is grateful for the time she spent there.

“Thankful pa rin ako sa Motolite, sa mga pinagsamahan namin ng buong team.”
