Bagunas returns as Oita Miyoshi skid continues in V.League

After missing two games, Bryan Bagunas came back earlier than expected but it did not stop Oita Miyoshi from sliding to their fourth-straight loss.

This as top seed Suntory dealt Weisse Adler a 25-16, 25-15, 25-21 beating in the 2020-21 Japan V.League Division 1 men’s tournament, Sunday at the Beppu Arena.

The 6-foot-5 Filipino import had a quiet return, registering 11 points, all from attacks in just 20 attempts.

Curtis Stockton unloaded 15 markers of his own as Oita Miyoshi missed the production of their locals.

Weisse Adler dropped to 2-24.

7-foot-2 Dmitriy Muserskiy literally stood tall over everyone, leading the Sunbirds with 21 points scattered through 16 spikes, four blocks, and a service ace.

Masahiro Yaganida and Haruki Ono tallied three blocks apiece, finishing with 12 and eight markers, respectively, for the 22-2 Suntory.

Bagunas and Oita look to stop the bleeding when they collide with the league’s top scorer Bartosz Kurek and Wolfdogs Nagoya on Saturday, Feb. 27, 1 pm, at the Cycle Shop Kodama Osu Arena.
