Bren’s Maru extends lead as Cignal’s Vermillion takes second in The Nationals Tekken

Bren Epro’s Maru “Maru” Sy moved away from the pack while Cignal’s Raphael “Vermillion” Cueva passed Smart Omega’s Juliano “Jules” Lozano for the second spot after the third day of the group stage of The Nationals Season 3 Tekken 7 Conference, Thursday.

The Bren Epro star tallied a league-best 36 points through a 29-11 record after taking down defending champion Alexandre “AK” Laverez of Playbook and Smart Omega’s Mark “MachineHead” Eking.

Maru swept both of his matches, spamming Anna and Leo against AK and MachineHead, respectively.

Meanwhile, Vermillion brought out the broom against Jules, scoring a 2-0 sweep using Julia before using the same character again in the 2-1 win against STI’s Michael “Hapon” Magbanua.

The Cignal veteran now has 29 points through a 23-16 record at the second spot while Jules, who held the top spot for the majority of the season, fell to third place with 28 points and a 21-14 record.

Hapon moved up the fourth spot with 26 points through a 21-17 record while Happy Feet’s Jeffrey “Coffee_Prinz!” Gonzales slipped to the fifth spot with a 22-18 card and 25 points – tied with AK who has a 21-18 standing.

MachineHead (19-20) placed sixth with 24 points while Cignal’s Daniel “Kunicat” De Leon (17-19) has 21 points in seventh place.

Playbook’s Jassen “JS5N” Capuyan and Happy Feet’s Don Argus (10-24), remained at the eighth, and ninth spot respectively, with 18 and 12 points.
