Ced Domingo says she’s always ready to step up for Creamline

BACARRA, ILOCOS NORTE — With Jeanette Panaga out, Celine Domingo provided Creamline with quality minutes during its three-set conquest of PLDT in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference, Sunday afternoon.

The 5-foot-10 product of Far Easter University provided six points — including four in the opening set — in the Cool Smashers’ balanced offense against the Power Hitters, 25-16, 25-13, 25-12, here at the PCV Socio-Civic and Cultural Center.

A total of 10 players registered a point, excluding the two liberos from the 13-man roster fielded during the match.

This is Creamline’s fourth consecutive win in as many outings.

“Ever since, ready naman po talaga ako kung tatawagin ako ni coach Sherwin [Meneses], kung tatawagin niya ako para mag-contribute sa team,” said the 23-year-old Domingo, who hails from Cavite.

“So, kanina ‘yung mindset ko is same pa rin, na gawin ko lang talaga ‘yung role ko and everything will follow.”

Creamline lead assistant Sherwin Meneses is still calling the shots for head coach Tai Bundit who just arrived yesterday. And he did not feel surprised with the way Domingo played.

After all, he already knew what to expect from the hard-working Domingo after seeing the effort she has put in during training.

With this, she hopes that Domingo, along with Creamline’s other bench players, can sustain their fine form heading to the crucial stretch of the PVL season.

“Siyempre expected naman namin ‘yung contribution ni Celine eh, kasi same lang din ‘yung tine-training nila every day.

“So ayun, maganda ‘yung pinakita ni Celine and sana magtuloy-tuloy ‘yung contributions nung [ibang] bench players namin,” said Meneses.
