E2MAX leads Omega past RSG to snap MPL PH skid

Patrick “E2MAX” Caidic played clutch, leading Omega Esports to its first win after a 2-0 sweep over RSG PH in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Eight, Friday night.

With RSG PH taking down four of Omega Esports’ members near the Lord pit at the 17:15-mark of Game Two, E2MAX was left to defend against a three-man Jonard “Demonkite” Caranto (Paquito), EJ “Heath” Esperanza (Martis), and Arvie “Aqua” Calderon (Harley).

The troika took down the first two turrets in the middle lane, but E2MAX managed to pop his Bennet and Nibiru while also evading Aqua’s Deadly Magic-Poker Trick combo in time to save the inhibitor turret — forcing Demonkite, Heath, and Aqua to retreat.

E2MAX then tracked down the three inside Omega’s jungle, taking down Aqua in the process while also getting out of the skirmish unscathed.

With Aqua out and Omega Esports now complete, the latter proceeded to the Lord and go for the jugular.

E2MAX was named the SMART 5G MVP with two kills, three deaths, and four assists in the 19:55-minute, 7-16 Game Two win.

Omega Esports brought out its specialty in Game One, climbing back from a huge deficit to steal the 1-0 lead from RSG PH.

“Alam po namin na ‘di nila kayang tapusin kasi lamang kami sa lineup ng hero e, talagang nag aantay lang kami maka-item tapos kapag ka nag clash na ulit kayang kaya na naming ipanalo,” said E2MAX on the Game One win.

The Omega Esports weathered a huge early game from Christian “Iy4knu” Manaog’s Esmeralda through the excellent itemization from Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog’s Popol and Kupa.

Down by as much as 13k in the gold department, Omega Esports turned things around entering the 20-minute mark by Iy4knu and Heath during the Lord fight.

That resulted in a free Lord take and eventually, the win for Omega Esports.

Ch4knu nabbed the SMART 5G MVP award through a clean 3-0-5 line in the 13-10 Game One win which lasted for 27 minutes and 16 seconds.

Dean “Raizen” Sumagui also made his debut in the series, stepping up for Robbie “Hito” Candoy and Duane “Kelra” Pillas – whose suspension will be over next week.

The Smart-backed squad (1-2) is now tied with TNC (1-1) at the fourth spot with three points apiece while RSG slid to the sixth spot with two points through a 1-1 standing.

Omega Esports will next face defending champion Blacklist International tomorrow at 8:00 PM while RSG looks to bounce back against ECHO earlier in the day at 4:00 PM.
