Kousei uses ‘negative comments’ as motivation as TNC fights for life

After a long and painful stretch, TNC finally broke its six-game losing streak after an impressive showing against RSG PH on Friday night.

The team started the season with a 2-1 record, but everything turned sour since as they dropped five consecutive series without a win before breaking the winning drought in the 1-2 loss to ECHO last week.

TNC gold laner Clarense “Kousei” Camilo caught the bulk of the fans’ ire after underperforming in the past games. This even led to a three-series benching as he was replaced by veteran Adrian “Toshi” Bacallo in the starting unit, to no avail.

Instead of sulking, Kousei turned those negative comments to motivation which then helped him gain back his confidence and eventually, end TNC’s skid.

“Yung mga negative comments po sa akin ng mga tao ginawa ko pong inspirasyon para mas mapabuti, saka binatak po ako ni Lift,” said 16-year-old gold laner out of Makati.

Kousei was a man on a mission against RSG PH, putting up three kills, a death, and seven assists in the Game One win before ending the series with a 7-4-8 KDA line in Game Two to lead the 2-0 sweep playing Alice both times.

He also played a crucial role in Game Two, serving up the game-winning play which helped TNC secure the grueling, 30:39-minute victory.

“Clutch week po kasi namin ‘to e, kailangan namin po ma 2-0 lahat ng games,” said Kousei.

TNC, after spending the past few weeks at the MPL Philippines cellar, forced a tie with Omega Esports at the seventh spot with 10 points each.

The win serves as a much-needed confidence booster heading to their match against the rising Bren Esports tomorrow, Saturday at 12:00 PM.
