Jordan Heading comes back home to Taiwan, signs with T1’s Taichung Suns


Jordan Heading has come back home to Taichung.

The Fil-Australian guard has signed with T1 team Taichung Suns.

Before going to the US to study in California Baptist University, Heading attended high school in Morrison High School in Taichung.

During his time in Gilas, he averaged 6.5 points and 1.5 assists during the Asia Cup Qualifiers.

The 6-foot-2 combo guard went on to norm 14.5 points and 3.0 assists in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Serbia.

“Heading improves our backcourt height,” said Taichung general manager Wang Weijie. “Our backcourt is relatively short.

“His addition will be of great help to us and I look forward to the spark he will give the Taichung Suns this season.”

He previously played for Alab Pilipinas as well.

Heading becomes the third Filipino to sign with the upstart Taiwanese league after Jason Brickman (Kaohsiung Aquas) and Caelan Tiongson (Taoyuan Leopards). Both are also alums of Alab.

He is also another Gilas player that has signed with an overseas league after Dwight Ramos (Toyama Grouses), Thirdy Ravena (San-En NeoPhoenix), Kemark Cariño (Aomori Wat’s), Javi Gomez de Liaño (Ibaraki Robots), Kobe Paras (Niigata Albirex), and Juan Gomez de Liaño (Earthfriends Tokyo Z).

Over the past few weeks, Taichung has also signed Donte Greene, Alonzo Gee, and Sani Sakakini.

The team’s head coach is former Spain youth team mentor Iurgi Caminos.
