Parks glad to see Ravena again as he settles in with Nagoya

Bobby Ray Parks Jr. is sporting a huge smile nowadays.

Of course, he met an old face anew on Saturday in Kiefer Ravena during Nagoya’s clash against Shiga at Park Arena Komaki.

“Definitely, exciting at nakakatuwa na makita siya,” expressed Parks about seeing friend and rival Ravena.

More importantly though, the three-time ASEAN Basketball League Most Valuable Player is starting to show the Diamond Dolphins and its boosters that he can lead their team.

After nursing a quad injury during the start of the 2021-22 B.League season, Parks has shown that he has now fully recovered over the past three games.

During that stretch, Parks has been norming 18.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. And more importantly, it has led to wins for Nagoya.

Their latest victim was, of course, Ravena’s Shiga.

It was a dominant outing by Parks and Nagoya, who won handily with a score of 107-68 with the Filipino leading the way with 22 points.

For Parks, this was his way of giving back to his team who has been patient with him.

“I want to thank my teammates and my coaches for believing me and giving me the confidence to step out there and definitely trusting me,” he said during the post-game interview.

Parks hopes that they can repeat over Ravena and the Lakestars on Sunday.

“The coaches did a great job of giving us the scouting report and the team responded very well,” Parks said.

“It’s definitely not easy playing against such a great team in Shiga, but we responded to the challenge.”
