Falcon a lucky charm as Mindoro ousts Stan D4 in NBL

Mindoro scored its second-straight win after eliminating Stan District 4, 101-88, in the 2021 Chooks-to-Go NBL Chairman’s Cup at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga, Sunday.

After leading by 23 in the early goings, the Disiplinados saw their lead slashed into two after a layup by Khenth Guiab in the fourth frame with 7:56 left, 79-77.

But Mindoro showed its discipline down the stretch.

The Disiplinados retaliated with eight unanswered points to restore order with 5:30 remaining, 87-77.

And they did not stop there as they went on another 14-4 blast to extend their lead to 20 points. That then put the game out of reach, 101-81.
