PBA 3×3 to begin before Govs’ Cup

The Philippine Basketball Association will celebrate its return to the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City with the launch of its 3×3 tournament.

The PBA 3×3 will begin its first conference on November 20 and 21 with the first day being the first stages.

“The PBA 3×3 will start before the Governors’ Cup,” said Marcial, who added that they target the season’s second conference for November 26 or 28.

On its second weekend, the 3×3 games will take place prior to the 5-on-5 tilts.

Thirteen teams, composed of 10 PBA franchises and three guest squads, will take part in the first season that has three conferences.

Each conference will have six two-day legs and one grand finals.

The 13 teams are TNT Tropang Giga, Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, the Meralco Bolts, the NorthPort Batang Pier, the San Miguel Beermen, the Terrafirma Dyip, the Purefoods Tender Juicy Titans, the Cavitex Road Warriors, the Sista Super Sealers, the Limitless Appmasters, Pioneer Pro Tibay, Platinum Karaoke, and the Zamboanga Valientes MLV.

According to Marcial, teams in the PBA 3×3 as well as the 5-on-5 regulars may already start practicing. This, provided they secured local government unit clearances and met protocols.
