Espejo gets better of Bagunas anew as Tokyo sweeps Oita for second V.League win


Marck Espejo went 2-0 against Bryan Bagunas in the 2021-22 Japan V.League Division 1 this weekend. 

FC Tokyo cruised to its second-straight victory after dominating Oita Miyoshi, 25-18, 25-20, 25-23, at the Showa Denko Dome, Saturday afternoon.

The multiple-time Spikers’ Turf Most Valuable Player who is a product of Ateneo tallied 11 points scattered through 8-of-16 spikes, two block kills, and a service ace.

Tokyo improved to 2-6 for seventh.

Jonas Kvalen listed another good game with 18 points, while Yuma Nagatomo added eight.

After a two-point outing yesterday, Tokyo limited Bagunas to another season-low anew, with just a point in just six attempts.

Kenta Koga was the lone Weisse Adler in double digits with 11 points as Emerson Rodriguez got eight.

Oita is currently on a seven-game funk at 1-7, good for ninth.

FC Tokyo aims for its third-straight win on Friday, Nov. 12, at 6:00 PM against the 2-5 JT Thunders. Meanwhile, the Weisse Adler will have next week off, returning to action on Nov. 20 against JTEKT at 12:00 NN.
