Fonacier’s Cavitex, Cardona’s Zamboanga slotted with TNT in PBA 3×3 A

TNT will encounter new challenges in the second leg of the PBA 3×3 inaugurals on Wednesday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Champions of the maiden leg over the weekend, the unbeaten Tropang Giga will face teams they haven’t met following the draw courtesy of the FIBA 3×3 Events Maker app.

The MVP Group’s crown jewel is still in Pool A together with Zamboanga, with San Miguel, CAVITEX, and Sista the new clubs in the group.

With this grouping in this Level 4 FIBA 3×3 tournament, Larry Fonacier of Cavitex and Zamboanga’s Mac Cardona will meet anew, this time in the halfcourt. The match takes place at 4:05PM on Wednesday.

The Beermen and the Braves were the top two teams from Pool C in Leg 1. Both squads, though, failed to go beyond the knockout quarterfinals.

SMB was beaten by guest team Platinum Karaoke, while CAVITEX was shown the exit doors by the number one team from Pool B in Meralco.

The Bolts eventually finished as the first leg’s runners-up, and will definitely look to go back to the Last Dance with the hope of bagging the crown this time.

They are still in Pool B, together with Terrafirma and Ginebra. The new addition is Limitless, almost switching places with the Super Sealers.

Leg 1 third-placers Purefoods, lastly, spearheads Pool C. The Tender Juicy Titans join NorthPort, Platinum, and Pioneer Pro Tibay.

The second leg blasts off at 2:00 p.m., with TNT battling the Valientes to open the festivities that will feature a total of 17 matches.
