Terrafirma assures Cabrera getting best treatment possible

Terrafirma is hoping for the best for Roider Cabrera as the forward remains in the hospital following the unfortunate incident Wednesday. He collapsed shortly after the Dyip’s PBA 3×3 match with Ginebra.

In a statement, team governor Bobby Rosales said that the ball club is completely behind the full recovery of the 31-year-old, who has emerged as a leader for his team in the new league that is in the midst of its second leg.

“The whole Terrafirma Dyip family is full of hope that things would turn out fine for Terrafirma 3×3 player, Roider Cabrera,” he said.

“He is now in the hospital, getting the best medical treatment and care possible.

“Terrafirma Dyip management is completely behind his full recovery. Medical bulletins are given directly to his immediate family and we give them the respect and the discretion to whatever they want or may not want to share to the public,” it continued.

Cabrera fell unconscious inside the Terrafirma dugout at the Ynares Sports Arena moments after their 19-17 win versus the Gin Kings.

The Adamson University product was the one towing his side to that victory. Cabrera nailed a cold-blooded two-pointer in overtime to collect their second victory in as many games. He finished with a game-high 11 points.

He also starred for the Dyip in their 17-14 conquest of Leg 1 runners-up Meralco prior. There, he produced five markers in a performance that saw him drill big deuces down the stretch to complete the come-from-behind triumph.

Those wins have boosted Terrafirma’s quarterfinal hopes. Still, the team will have to march on without its main man.

Jebb Bulawan is taking his place.

Rosales also expressed gratitude to those who immediately attended to Cabrera. He asked for prayers as for his speedy recovery.

The league, prior to the start of Day 2 Thursday, offered a prayer for Cabrera and all the other players nursing injuries. This includes Purefoods ver Val Acuña, who suffered a fractured jaw versus Platinum Karaoke.

“We would also like to thank from our hearts the first responders on the scene who took care of Roider, the medical workers, and the whole PBA and PBA 3×3 family,” said Rosales, also the PBA Vice Chairman.

“Let us continue to include Roider and his family in our prayers. Maraming salamat po.”
