B.League: Javi GDL plays limited min. anew as Ibaraki routed by Tokyo

Javi Gomez de Liaño did not see much court time to open the calendar year.

Ibaraki, on the other hand, could not get things going against Tokyo, suffering a 65-81 defeat in the 2021-22 B.League season, Sunday at Adastria Mito Arena.

It was a struggle all throughout for the Robots as it never tasted the lead in the 40-minute affair.

Alvark raced to a 31-20 first quarter lead while stamping its class on the defensive end in the last three quarters.

Tokyo, who led by as much as 20 points in the game, limited Ibaraki to just 33-percent shooting from the field to raise their slate to 18-7.

Shuto Ando got 17 points to lead the way for Alvark while Sebastian Saiz tallied 13 points, six rebounds, and four assists.

Taiki Osakabe produced 15 points built on three treys with six rebounds, five assists, and a steal. Meanwhile, Alex Kirk tallied a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Ryan Rossiter also grabbed 12 rebounds to go along with eight points.

Ibaraki dropped its second straight game, falling to 5-20.

Kohei Fukuzawa led Ibaraki in the scoring department with 21 points. On the other hand, imports Marc Trasolini and Eric Jacobsen got 13 points each, combining for just 11 rebounds.

Gomez de Liaño played close to five minutes in the game, going 0-of-3 from the field.

The two teams square off again tomorrow.
