Roosevelt Adams eligible to play as Asian import in B.League

Roosevelt Adams is definitely headed to the B.League.

In a report by Gerry Ramos of Spin.ph, Terrafirma governor and PBA vice chairman Bobby Rosales bared that the top overall pick in the 2019 Rookie Draft is headed to Japan. This has been confirmed by sources closely monitoring the situation to Tiebreaker Times.

But it won’t be as a world import.

Yes, the 6-foot-5 swingman out of Arizona is eligible to play as an Asian Quota Player.

This as Adams obtained his Philippine passport before the age of 16, according to a verifiede source.

This makes the 27-year-old Filipino-American eligible not just to play as an Asian import in Japan or Korea but also for Gilas Pilipinas.

In Japan, he will be treated like fellow dual passport holders like Juan Gomez de Liano (free agent), Bobby Ray Parks Jr. (Nagoya), Kobe Paras (Niigata), and Dwight Ramos (Toyama).

One of Tiebreaker Times’ sources also added that Adams playing in the B.League might not happen this season as he has yet to obtain an entertainment visa.

The B.League has a deadline of until January 31 to bring in imports.

Still, Adams is willing to wait for next season as he has already signed with the lower division team.

Adams is a restricted free agent in the PBA after not signing an extension with the Dyip.
