Santiago-Manabat finds form as Nakhon Ratchasima books slot to VTL playoffs

Nakhon Ratchasima QminC booked its place in the 2021-22 Volleyball Thailand League playoffs after sweeping Pro Flex RSU, 25-16, 25-23, 25-16, Saturday at the Nimibutr Stadium in Bangkok.

Filipina imports Dindin Santiago-Manabat and Mylene Paat bounced back from a rough outing last Wednesday against Diamond Food, leading Nakhon Ratchasima to a 6-5 win-loss card.

The 6-foot-2 spiker, who plays for Chery Tiggo in the PVL, played her best game yet for her squad in three games played. She exploded for 19 points, scattered through 16 attacks and three blocks.

On the other hand, Paat had an off night, only getting four points as she did not enter in the third period.

Patcharaporn Sittisad and Karina Krause each dropped 10 points. Meanwhile, other middle blocker Chitaporn Kamlangmak just missed twin digits with nine points.

Nakhon Ratchasima is now level with Khonkaen Star for the third and fourth seeds at 6-5.

Meanwhile, Proflex stayed winless in this round, dropping to 2-9.

No RSU player breached double figures. Arisa Promnok, Suthina Pasang, and Rungruethai Sangsakon tallied eight points apiece.

Nakhon Ratchasima will then cap its regular season on Feb. 20, Sunday, against the league-leading undefeated Supreme Chonburi at 6 pm.
