MPL PH: KurtTzy’s Johnson caps ECHO’s dominant win vs Blacklist

Jankurt “KurtTzy” Matira flaunted his Johnson skills to close out ECHO’s 2-0 sweep of Blacklist International in the MPL Philippines Season Nine, Sunday afternoon.

Tight was the opening game of the ECHO-Blacklist International match-up. All hell broke loose, though, when ECHO showcased the Johnson-Kadita combo in Game Two to bulldoze its way to a dominant 20-6 win and complete the 2-0 sweep.

After securing the Luminous Lord at the 13:11-minute mark, KurtTzy (Johnson) and Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera (Kadita) slammed three Blacklist International members inside their own base.

Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno’s Lancelot capped it off with a Triple Kill while Frediemar “3MarTzy” Serafico’s Esmeralda had a Double Kill to end the match.

KarlTzy finished with 12 kills and five assists in the 14:19-minute match. Meanwhile, KurtTzy recorded a game-high 17 assists laced with two deaths.

ECHO reclaimed the top spot with 11 points through an immaculate 4-0 standing.

Blacklist International played arguably its best game in the season so far in Game One. It flaunted its prized UBE strategy to keep the streaking ECHO at bay.

Things took a huge turn, however, when Frediemar “3MarTzy” Serafico (Gloo) checked the right middle lane bush at the 14:46-minute mark.

Welcomed by Dexter “DEX STAR” Alaba’s Rafaela and Kiel “OHEB” Soriano’s Alice, the former TNC exp laner almost fell down. Still, he managed to get out of the skirmish just in time to keep himself alive.

With Blacklist International losing key skills in the botched ambush attempt, ECHO – bannered by Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales’ Yu Zhong – went for a counter engage in a clash that went as far as Blacklist International’s base.
