Mau, Manabat, Morado back out as Baron returns to SEAG pool


The Philippine National Volleyball Federation has announced the 16-woman pool for the indoor volleyball team that will compete in the 31st Southeast Asian Games this May.

Key returnees from the 2019 team are Creamline’s Alyssa Valdez; F2 Logistics’ Aby Marano, Dawn Macandili, and Majoy Baron; PLDT’s Kath Arado; Cignal’s Ces Molina; and Chery Tiggo’s Mylene Paat.

Jaja Santiago of Saitama and Chery Tiggo will make her return to the national team for the event set to begin on May 12 at Hanoi, Vietnam.

Making their SEAG debuts are Choco Mucho’s Deanna Wong and Kat Tolentino; Cignal’s Ria Meneses; Creamline’s Jema Galanza; PLDT’s Dell Palomata; F2 Logistics’ Iris Tolenada; and California Precision Academy’s Casiey Dongallo and Jelaica Gajero.

Baron was not part of the initial 20-woman pool of the PNVF.

Backing out are Kalei Mau of Athletes Unlimited; Dindin Santiago-Manabat and Jasmine Nabor of Chery Tiggo; Kianna Dy of F2 Logistics; and Jia Morado of Creamline.

After the 2022 PVL Open Conference ends on April 9, the team will head to Brazil for a training camp.

Head coach of the team is Jorge Edson Souza De Brito. He will be assisted by Odjie Mamon, Grace Antigua, and Raffy Mosuela.
