Stamp plans to make history come milestone ONE X

ONE Women’s Atomweight World Grand Prix winner Stamp Fairtex is just one win away from completing something that has never been done before in the history of combat sports.

So when Stamp takes centerstage to challenge ONE Atomweight World Champion  “Unstoppable” Angela Lee in the main event of the promotion’s tenth-anniversary show, ONE X, set for Saturday, March 26, expect her to take this opportunity and run with it.

The charismatic Thai superstar has already won world titles in Muay Thai and kickboxing, and if she beats the longtime world champion, then she’ll effectively become the first person in combat sports to win three belts in different disciplines.

“My first goal was to achieve the kickboxing belt, followed by the Muay Thai belt. And I would also like to be the MMA Champion, for which I need to beat Angela Lee,” Stamp said.

“It’s only a step away for me to win the MMA belt then I will be the only one in history to own belts in three sports.”

Lee has been ruling over the division since May 2016, with the Singaporean-American only absorbing losses when she moved up to strawweight.

Basically, she’s been untouchable in this weight class, but the Fairtex star wants to change that.

“It’s been so long that Angela Lee has held her championship that it’s getting boring in the weight class. It’s time for a change. It’s time for a new champion. I’ll be the new ‘Unstoppable.’”

While Stamp admires the 25-year-old’s skills and what she’s achieved at such a young age, the native of Pattaya, Thailand, believes that Lee won’t be the same in her return – at least not in this match.

“Of course, Angela Lee hasn’t been in the Circle for about two years. Nothing would stay the same. I have an upper hand from my fitness and readiness,” Stamp bared.

“I personally think that when Angela Lee got pregnant, her body stopped functioning for fighting for two years. This is like a new beginning for her body in every aspect. For training and strength, I think those will be decreased, but I think her skills are still intact.”

Knowing that she has the advantage when it comes to conditioning, Stamp plans to drag the defending champion into deep waters – carefully picking her shots while waiting for the right moment to finish her.

I plan to keep my distance with my footwork, punching, and kicking. The longer I can hold her off, the more she’ll get exhausted. My plan is to take my time and perform each strike as heavy as possible.” Stamp said.

“I’ll let her drain herself out. Once I see she can’t take it anymore, I’ll get closer and finish her off.”
