Alyssa Valdez cops first PVL Finals MVP

ANTIPOLO — Alyssa Valdez proved that she can still deliver in big games.

The 28-year-old spiker out of San Juan, Batangas was adjudged as the 2022 Premier Volleyball League Finals Most Valuable Player after leading Creamline to a sweep of the finals against Petro Gazz.

Believe it or not, this is Valdez’s first Finals MVP in the PVL era.

The three-time league MVP had a monster line in the Cool Smashers’ 25-16, 23-25, 25-12, 32-20 win over the Angels in Game One, dropping 26 points.

Valdez followed it up with 20 points and 11 digs in Creamline’s 25-18, 15-25, 23-25, 16-25 Game Two triumph that sealed their first-ever pro title.

This trophy adds to an already impressive case of Valdez in the PVL.

Valdez is a five-time Best Outside Spiker in the league as well.
