MPL PH: Light lifts RSG to sweep of ONIC, upper bracket finals

Dylan “Light” Catipon played crucial in Game Three, leading RSG PH to a 3-0 win over ONIC PH to advance to the MPL Philippines Season Nine upper bracket finals on Friday at the SMX Convention Center.

With the win, RSG PH is now assured of a top three finish.

Fighting for the third Lord of Game Three, Light (Atlas) used his Fatal Links to catch Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol.

With ONIC PH’s jungler down, RSG PH secured the objective to prolong the match.

Entering the 21th minute, Light secured a three-man Fatal Links that allowed RSG PH to take out Jaylord “Hatred” Gonzales’ Grock and Marky “Markyyyyy” Capacio’s Natan.

ONIC PH took out Jhonard “Demonkite” Caranto’s Karina, but RSG PH still went for the lord which eventually sealed the deal.

RSG PH dominated ONIC PH in the opener, securing a 20-7 Game One win in 17 minutes and 44 seconds of action.

Arvie “Aqua” Calderon’s Pharsa steered the rousing win with five kills and seven assists against a death while Jhonard “Demonkite” Caranto supplied six kills and nine assists without a single death.

In Game Two, RSG PH managed to find Allen “Baloyskie” Baloy’s Natalia entering the 25th minute with Aqua (Yve) securing the kill.

Everything turned sideways for ONIC from there, with RSG PH securing a four-man wipe to end the game.

Nathanael “Nathzz” Estrologo’s Esmeralda delivered eight kills, two deaths, and an assist while Aqua had three kills, a death, and a game-high 13 assists in 25 minutes and 32 seconds.

RSG PH will take on TNC tomorrow, Saturday in the uppet bracket finals at 7:00 PM while ONIC PH will face Omega Esports for a spot in the lower bracket finals.
