Giron finds ‘right mix’ vs UP by fielding rookie Kate Santiago

Adamson University figured in a tough match-up against the erstwhile unbeaten University of the Philippines at the Mall of Asia Arena on Thursday night.

Indeed, it was a tight tussle as both teams exchanged the first two sets which tied the game at 1-all. Seeing how the game was going, Lady Falcons head coach Lerma Giron tried to find the right blend of players inside the court.

Giron, after fielding in a total of 11 players in just the first set, eventually found the perfect mix with Kate Santiago stepping up to help Adamson take down the surging Fighting Maroons.

“So far marami pa kaming dapat ayusin sa team,” said Giron after the four-set, 25-19, 19-25, 25-17, 25-11 win over UP.

The 20-year-old opposite spiker out of Zamboanga, who only scored a total of six points in two games played, almost doubled her output and dropped 11 points, including three aces, to provide the spark off the bench. Santiago also started in sets three and four which Adamson both won.UAAP-84-Womens-AdU-vs-UP-Kate-Santiago-2-scaled Giron finds 'right mix' vs UP by fielding rookie Kate Santiago AdU News UAAP Volleyball - philippine sports news
