Lycha Ebon, Martha Mora leave FEU in midst of UAAP 84

Seniors Lycha Ebon and Martha Mora will no longer return to Far Eastern University for the rest of the UAAP Season 84 Women’s Volleyball Tournament.

The two were conspicuously absent during the Lady Tamaraws’ three-set defeat at the hands of Ateneo de Manila University.

However, in a report by Inquirer.net which was later on confirmed to Tiebreaker Times by FEU athletic director Mark Molina, the two have left the team to pursue other endeavors.

“They are graduating athletes who have already finished the academic requirements for their bachelor’s degrees and have started to focus on their future careers. We support them in their endeavors,” said Molina.

Ebon was supposed to be the face of the Lady Tamaraws this season.

However, as the season progressed, the outside hitter out of Davao City saw her minutes dwindle down by the game.UAAP-84-Womens-Volleyball-UST-vs-FEU-Lycha-Ebon-2-scaled Lycha Ebon, Martha Mora leave FEU in midst of UAAP 84 FEU News UAAP Volleyball - philippine sports news

“Gusto lang namin palaruin yung mga batang players pa namin,” said head coach George Pascua after their game against Adamson in the first round.

Ebon is already in her fifth year with the school but has only played three seasons.

Her rookie year was cut short due to an ACL tear while her second year only lasted for two games due to the ongoing pandemic.

Mora, meanwhile, is a product of FEU-Diliman and is in her final year.

“Team management believes this is an opportune time to give the younger players, especially the rookies, more exposure and experience on the court. The goal is still to win as many games as possible and to gain momentum for the coming UAAP season,” said Molina.
