RSG PH pulls out of Sibol qualis

RSG PH made the tough decision to skip the SIBOL World Esports Championships qualifiers, Sunday.

Team manager Lexie Yambao confirmed the development to Tiebreaker Times.

In a statement, the organization said that they are looking to give their players and coaches – who are coming off a huge victory in the 2022 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – enough time to rest and prepare for the upcoming title defense in the MPL Philippine Season 10.

“We were deeply honored and humbled by the invitation, but due to our team’s recent overseas MSC tournament; and ensuring that our players and coaches have had enough rest before embarking on their rigorous training plan for the upcoming MLBB competitive season, we had to politely decline the invitation this time around,” said RSG PH in a statement obtained by Tiebreaker Times.

The organization, though, expressed its utmost commitment to the national team, saying that they will participate in SIBOL’s future events.

“However, we do have a keen interest to participate in future events to have a chance to represent the Philippines,” the statement ended.

RSG PH is the undisputed top team in the Philippines after winning the MPL Philippines Season Nine title and the 2022 MSC championship early this year.

With RSG PH withdrawing its name from the pool, Blacklist International, Omega Esports, and ECHO’s two teams are now the only MPL teams in the qualifiers.
