Chery Tiggo goes on full revamp, releases Ortiz, six others

Following another subpar campaign, Chery Tiggo decided to release seven of its players this Tuesday.

The organization announced through its Facebook page that it has let go of long-time player Maika Ortiz, along with reserves Rachel Austero, Joy Dacoron, Justine Dorog, Julia Angeles, Ariane Layug, and Elaine Kasilag.

All players except for Angeles were part of the Chery Tiggo squad that won the first-ever professional title in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference last year in the Ilocos Norte bubble.

Unfortunately, the Crossovers went crashing down after that season. The team placed eighth in both the 2022 Open Conference and the Invitational Conference.

Still with the squad are Dindin Santiago-Manabat, Jasmine Nabor, Mylene Paat, Shaya Adorador, Jasmine Nabor, Buding Duremdes, May Luna, Alina Bicar, Czarina Carandang, and Jaja Santiago.
