2022 AVC Cup for Women

PWNVT will finish AVC Cup strong, assures Meneses

The Philippine Women’s National Volleyball Team bowed to Thailand in four sets, 18-25, 25-23, 20-25, 9-25, late Saturday evening in the 2022 PNVF AVC Cup for Women at the PhilSports Arena.

And in 13 hours, the Nationals will be back on the taraflex for the classification phase against winless Australia at 1 pm tomorrow.

But head coach Sherwin Meneses has no doubt that his wards will give their 100 percent even with little recovery time.2022-AVC-Cup-Philippines-vs-Thailand-Kyla-Atienza PWNVT will finish AVC Cup strong, assures Meneses 2022 AVC Cup for Women News - philippine sports news

“‘Yung mga players naman fighter naman yan eh. Pagod o nakapahinga maglalaro ng 100 percent yan so no excuses for tomorrow’s game,” said the proud bench tactician.

Each teams in Pool A played four games in five days, while the teams in Pool B played three games in five days as Kazahkstan backed out before the start of the tourney.

Then after the preliminary rounds, each team except ninth place South Korea will play daily until Monday.

Creamline, being the champion of the 2022 PVL Invitational Conference, was called up to represent the country in the tournament three weeks before its opening after the sudden issue that happened in the national team pool.

And the Cool Smashers gladly accepted the call of duty.2022-AVC-Cup-Philippines-vs-Thailand-Michele-Gumabao PWNVT will finish AVC Cup strong, assures Meneses 2022 AVC Cup for Women News - philippine sports news

“Actually, ‘yung preparation naman sa international hindi naman ganon dapat kabilis pero happy ako sa mga players na talagang ginagawa nila ‘yung best nila kahit everyday ‘yung game.”

Whatever happens in the classification phase, the Philippines is already assured of its best finish in AVC after getting just ninth place in the 2018 edition.
