Demonkite relishes first-ever Savage: ‘Di ko alam kung may susunod pa’

Jhonard “Demonkite” Caranto reached another milestone in his young career on Friday night.

The 19-year-old jungler became the tenth player to record a Savage in the MPL Philippines after clinching the feat using Karina in RSG PH’s Game Three win over TNC at the ICITE Auditorium.

Demonkite joined an elite group that consists of Bren Esports’ Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel, Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno of ECHO, Omega Esports’ Duane “Kelra” Pillas, Renz “Renzio” Cadua, and coach Jomie “Pakbet” Abalos, Kiel “OHEB” Soriano of Blacklist International, Team SMG’s Jaylord “Hate” Gonzales, and retired players Yuji “Yuji” Aizawa and Mico “Coco” Sampang.

“Sobrang saya kasi minsan ko lang magawa sa tournament, actually first time nga. ‘Di ko alam kung may susunod pa,” said Demonkite during the post-match press conference.

After securing the Lord during the 16th minute, Demonkite and the rest of RSG PH ran over the entire TNC squad with the former JNA Esports jungler completing a five-man wipe of his own to help his side take their second consecutive win.

He finished with a game-high nine kills to go along with three assists in the 14-7 Game Three win in 17 minutes and five seconds of action.

RSG PH actually started the series slowly, dropping Game One before taking the second match in almost 30 minutes of game time.

The reigning champions were on the brink of losing Game Two after TNC secured the first four Lords of the contest but a crucial kill on Daniel “SDzyz” Chu’s Aamon allowed RSG PH to bounce back and even the series.

Demonkite said that the game plan was to drag the game for as long as possible as they had the advantage over TNC’s melee composition with Eman “EMANN” Sangco and Arvie “Aqua” Calderon holding the Beatrix and Xavier, respectively.

“Yung plano po talaga namin doon is paabutin ng late game kasi mga melee yung TNC then naka Xavier kami and Beatrix kaya alam namin na malakas kami kapag nasa base, malakas kami mag-defend,” said Demonkite.

“Saka yung heroes nila walang pambasag (ng turrets) so nag-stick lang kami na paabutin lang namin ng late game hanggang sa magkaitem kami tapos maging prepared kami makipag-clash sa kanila sa Lord,” he added.

With the win, RSG PH took solo second with 17 points via a 6-3 win-loss standing. They will take on ONIC PH next Sunday at 5:00 PM.
