Ced Domingo out to sustain momentum from what is already an epic year

Ced Domingo had that extra bounce during Creamline’s debut in the 2022 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference against PLDT on Thursday.

The undeniable rise of Domingo started back in the 2022 Invitational Conference where she copped her first-ever Finals MVP after the Cool Smashers made quick work of KIngWhale last August 14.

The 23-year-old middle blocker registered a complete statline of five attacks, four kill blocks, and two service aces against the guest team in the one-game finale.

“Tinutuloy ko lang talaga kung ano na yung nasimulan ko and nandito na po, I guess papanindigan ko na lang po kung ano yung binigay sa akin na responsibility, na role,” said Domingo after their 25-22, 25-18, 26-28, 25-22 win over the High Speed Hitters.

The Far Eastern University product took a piece of the scoring cudgels for Creamline, which missed the services of Tots Carlos as she was rested, with 17 points on 11 attacks, three blocks, and three service aces.PVL-Reinforced-2022-PLDT-vs.-Creamline-Ced-Domingo-6004 Ced Domingo out to sustain momentum from what is already an epic year News PVL Volleyball - philippine sports news

Her August did not finish with them lifting the trophy though, as the Cool Smashers represented the Philippines in the AVC Cup for Women and ASEAN Grand Prix after.

There, Domingo learned from the continent and region’s best, getting much-needed international experience to further expand her game.

She had encounters with China’s Hu Mingyuan, Vietnam’s Tran Thi Bich Thuy, and Thailand’s Hattaya Bamrungsuk among others.

“Sobrang big part (ng international experience) kasi we’ve been going up against stronger teams, taller teams, faster teams kaya lahat ng natutunan ko sa international talagang yun yung binitbit ko,” added the 5-foot-9 quicker.

With her game’s upward trend along with Creamline’s success as of late, expect Domingo to rise even higher for the Cool Smashers.

Up next for them is Petro Gazz on Tuesday at 5:30 pm at the same Pasig venue.

“I’m really happy na everyone is very supportive and yung communication namin sa loob nandoon talaga kaya hindi nagiging mahirap for me.”
