PVL: F2 Logistics bucks Mau injury, gets breakthrough at Army’s expense

After two straight defeats, now-full-strength F2 Logistics finally entered the win column at the expense of winless United Auctioneers Inc-Arm, 25-17, 25-21, 25-16, in the 2022 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference, Tuesday at the Philsports Arena in Pasig.

Lindsay Stalzer, frustrated with their losses, vented her ire on the Lady Troopers with 24 points on 23 attacks to go with 10 excellent receptions.

“A win is a win ‘no? Pero ‘yung pinakita doon sa loob, medyo tight pa, medyo pigil pa ‘yung galaw and marami pa ring lapses but we’ll take the win to boost the team’s confidence,” said Cargo Movers coach Benson Bocboc.

“Aside from that, we have to work more and harder for our next games.”

Kalei Mau left the game midway through the second period after suffering leg cramps and did not come back. She still had eight points.

Kianna Dy also managed eight points while Ivy Lacsina got three blocks and finished with seven points.

Ahead by just mere two points, the Cargo Movers pulled away via a 10-4 rally, capped by Kianna Dy’s attack to secure the first frame, 25-17.

The Lady Troopers saved two set points in the second, 21-24, but Lindsay Stalzer met Jovelyn Gonzaga at the net, erasing the latter’s attempt to push F2 Logistics on the verge of a sweep, 25-21.

The Cargo Movers then wreaked havoc right from the get-go of the third frame, cruising to a 17-7 advantage and never looking back.

F2 Logistics improved to 1-2 at eighth, leaving UAI-Army as the lone team without a win at 0-3.

The Lady Troopers, who only got 25 attacks as a team, were led by Gonzaga with seven points while Laura Condotta was held to five points with 11 digs and 11 receptions.

The Cargo Movers will have a week to rest before returning next Tuesday against PLDT at 5:30 pm, while UAI-Army will have a longer time to regroup, playing on October 27 against Chery.
