MPL PH: Pheww powers Bren’s massive stunner over Omega

Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel engineered Bren Esports’ massive reverse sweep of Omega Esports, 3-2, guiding the team to a ticket to the MPL Philippines Season 10 upper bracket semifinals, Thursday at the Blue Leaf Cosmopolitan in Quezon City.

The MPL Philippines Season Six champion takes on the top-ranked Blacklist International tomorrow.

This is Omega Esports’ worst finish since acquiring the Execration roster in Season Eight.

Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog (Atlas) spearheaded Omega Esports’ wire-to-wire 14-2 Game One victory by spearheading the team’s aggressive approach that prevented Bren Esports jungler Kyle “KyleTzy” Sayson (Paquito) from farming comfortably.

Omega Esports took two turtles and all nine Bren Esports’ turrets while the latter scored zero in the objectives department.

Ch4knu finished with a kill, a death, and 13 assists while Patrick “E2MAX” Caidic (Faramis) had a clean 1-0-2 KDA line in 15 minutes and 26 seconds of game time.

In Game Two, Bren Esports picked off E2MAX (Lylia) during the 13th minute but was flanked by Dean “Raizen” Sumagui (Paquito) which resulted in a five-to-one conversion for Omega Esports en route to a 2-0 advantage.

Raizen finished with five kills and three assists against one death in the 13-6 Game Two triumph while Duane “Kelra” Pillas had four kills and an assist on Beatrix in just 13 minutes and 43 seconds of action.

Bren Esports bounced back in Game Three after scoring three consecutive kills during the 16th minute, leaving Kelra (Lesley) and Raizen (Paquito) the only ones to defend. Raizen went for the flank on Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel (Pharsa) as the rest of Bren Esports ended the game.

Pheww spearheaded the win with four kills and eight assists against one death while KyleTzy had 4-0-7 on Karina in 16 minutes and 36 seconds.

The Bren Esports skipper followed his impressive Game Three performance with another stellar performance in Game Four, delivering five kills and seven assists against one death on Gusion to help his side tie the series via a 14-8 win in just 13 minutes and 46 seconds.

Bren Esports then took Game Five to complete the reversal.

Bren Esports will go up against Blacklist International in the upper bracket semifinals tomorrow, Friday at 5:00 PM.
