NCAA calls off scuffle-marred CSB-JRU game in favor of Blazers

The NCAA’s Management Committee has decided to end the College of St. Benilde-Jose Rizal University, with the Blazers taking the 71-51 win on Tuesday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.

At the 3:22 mark of the payoff period, John Amores instigated a scuffle. He punched three players from the Blazers – namely Jimboy Pasturan, Taine Davis, and Mark Sangco.

As the dust cleared, the league stopped the game “to avoid further escalation of untoward incidents and for the safety of the players, coaches, and audience.”

JRU athletic director Paul Supan and CSB athletic director Dax Castellano agreed to the decision of the league.

Moreover, an investigation will be done by the league.

The Blazers rose back with a 10-3 win-loss slate. JRU, on the other hand, fell to 6-7.
