PVL: F2 Logistics storms back from two sets down, deals Creamline first loss

F2 Logistics crawled back from a 0-2 deficit to hand Creamline its first loss, 22-25, 23-25, 25-20, 25-19, 15-11 in their first-ever matchup in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference, Tuesday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Lindsay Stalzer fired a game-high 27 points on 22 attacks, three aces, and a kill block to help the 3-2 Cargo Movers stay in the hunt for a semifinals slot.

“We have a good time to prepare for Creamline pero we started differently so of course, maybe the crowd, the energy, everyone’s so excited so yung all the players both sides they are giving a show,” said F2 Logistics head coach Benson Bocboc.

“Palakasan nang palo pero na-divert yung plano. Buti na lang nung bandang dulo habang tumatagal, the service worked a lot. Maraming error, pero those points we need for the break to got those wins or every set and then eventually doon sa dulo,” he added.

Kianna Dy provided 18 points – which includes six huge blocks – for the Cargo Movers while Aby Marano and Kalei Mau chipped in 11 points apiece.

Kim Fajardo glued things together with 24 excellent sets.

Ahead by a solitary point in the final set, 10-9 Dy, Maraño and Shola Alvarez joined hands in a 3-0 spurt which gave F2 Logistics a comfortable four-point lead.

Alvarez, however, committed a service error which put the Cool Smashers on the board before Stalzer found an opening on the corner to push the Cargo Movers at match point. Iris Tolenada botched her service but Elaine Kasilag made sure to complete F2 Logistics’ comeback by hammering a powerful attack.

Yeliz Basa led the way for the Cool Smashers with 19 points on 17 attacks, a kill, and a block. Alyssa Valdez had 12 points and 16 excellent digs while Jema Galanza came up with 12 markers as well, laced with 13 excellent receptions.

Jia De Guzman dished out 21 excellent sets while Kyla Atienza collected 23 digs and 13 receptions.

After dropping the first two sets, the Cargo Movers came alive in the third frame and leaned on Stalzer, who scored four points in a 5-1 run, to grab a 19-16 advantage before eventually bagging the set.

Carrying their momentum from the third frame, F2 Logistics led by as much as 11 points, 22-11, en route to a 24-15 lead off a Kasilag hit. The Cool Smashers saved four points before Shola Alvarez converted one in to completely send the game to a decider.

F2 Logistics will square up against Akari on Tuesday at 5:30 PM while Creamline looks to bounce back against UAI-Army on Saturday, 2:30 PM. Both games will be played in the same venue.
