After silver finish, there’s no place to go but up for Cignal, believes Molina

After two consecutive bronze finishes, Cignal finally got the chance to compete for the championship after topping the 2022 Premier Volleyball League round-robin semifinals.

Unfortunately, the HD Spikers did not get the outcome that they wanted as they ran out of gas and lost to defending champion Petro Gazz in the best-of-three finals series via sweep.

It was a tough one for Cignal indeed as they worked all year long just to get to the finals.

But still, despite another heartbreak, the HD Spikers received their silver medals with their heads held high because, at the end of the day, they knew that they had given everything throughout the 2022 PVL season.PVL-Reinforced-Awarding-Tai-Bierria-7682 After silver finish, there's no place to go but up for Cignal, believes Molina News PVL Volleyball - philippine sports news

“Kakausap lang namin sa loob. Di naman dito natatapos dito yung lahat,” said Ces Molina after the loss.

“We’re very proud talaga sa team kasi sa buong taon na to, tatlong podium finish pa rin nagawa namin. Di yan kayang gawin ng kahit sinong team na laging makapasok sa bronze, ngayon silver,” she added.

Fresh from a forgettable campaign in the 2021 Open Conference, Cignal immediately turned heads during the 2022 edition when they barged into the semifinals where they lost to the Angels in three games despite taking Game One. They eventually took out Choco Mucho to bag third place.

The HD Spikers replicated their feat from the previous conference and sealed a second-straight bronze medal in the Invitational Conference.

“I think step by step. Nakuha na namin yung bronze, ngayon silver, baka sa susunod, maka-gold na kami.

“Di kami titigil na mag-aral, maglaro at matuto pa,” Molina added.

Cignal head coach Shaq delos Santos said that the team will enjoy what they have achieved and take a much-needed breather from the grind before gearing up for the next PVL season.PVL-Reinforced-Petrogazz-vs.-Cignal-G1-Shaq-Delos-Santos-4061 After silver finish, there's no place to go but up for Cignal, believes Molina News PVL Volleyball - philippine sports news

“Sa ngayon, enjoyin lang namin tong gabi, tong nakuha naming silver. Siguro, for now, wala muna kaming kailangang pag-usapan na anything. Good thing dito is makakapahinga na muna kami. Sobrang kailangan namin lahat ng rest,” said delos Santos.

“Enjoy lang muna namin. Kung siguro, meron kaming mapag-usapan, siguro more on yung magagandang bagay kasi yun ang mas makakatulong sa morale namin.”
