Terrence Romeo offers sound advice to fellow Tamaraw Alec Stockton

Terrence Romeo and Alec Stockton got into heated encounters during the PBA Commissioner’s Cup quarterfinal series between San Miguel and Converge.

And the tipping point of which occurred in Game Two on Saturday night, when both guards had a staredown with one another during the second half.

The former three-time scoring king, though, emerged triumphant as the Beermen came away with the 120-107 win to complete the semis cast. But he was quick to downplay that altercation, saying that they’re actually pals.

“Lagi kami naglalaro ni Alec dun sa mga … pick-up games,” he said after the match at the Philsports Arena, where he finished with 22 points.

“So, ganun talaga ‘yung attitude ni Alec, talagang matapang. Ako rin, ganun din so pareho kaming di nagba-backdown,” added Romeo.

There surely won’t be any bad blood whatsoever for the two. Aside from being good friends, that Far Eastern University connection runs deep.

So much so that he actually dished some brotherly advice to his fellow Tamaraw, who was picked 21st overall by Alaska in the 2021 Rookie Draft.2022-PBA-Commissioners-Cup-QF-San-MIguel-vs-Converge-Terrence-Romeo-1-scaled Terrence Romeo offers sound advice to fellow Tamaraw Alec Stockton Basketball News PBA - philippine sports news

“Sinabihan ko si Alec na make sure pagka nag-gaganun ka, hindi pupuwedeng naka-focus ka sa pag-gaganun ng player tapos wala kang production sa team. Dapat, meron pa din,” said the former UAAP MVP.

That nugget of wisdom also stemmed from Romeo’s belief of Stockton’s capability in becoming a solid player in the pro ranks.

“Kaya ‘pag kaya mong pagsabayin ‘yun, ‘yun, magiging magaling ka na player. ‘Yun ang sinabi ko sa kanya,” he said.

“‘Yung batang ‘yun, sobrang talented. Inaantay lang na pumutok. Magaling ‘yun si Alec.”
