NCAA 98: Perpetual’s Ramirez-Marapoc zoom to 5-0, EAC’s Pitogo-Ramilo at second


University of Perpetual Help System DALTA stayed undefeated on the second day of the NCAA Season 98 Men’s Beach Volleyball with a 5-0 record on Wednesday at Subic, Zambales.

The Atlas’ Louie Ramirez and Jefferson Marapoc conquered Lyceum’s Deon Colorado and Vergel Golloso, 21 – 8, 21 – 17. They would then prevail over College of Saint Benilde’s Leonard Jaboli and Kyle Valera, 21 – 15, 21 – 13, to remain at the top spot.

Meanwhile, Emilio Aguinaldo College’s Ralph Pitogo and Joshua Ramilo warded off CSB’s Valera and Jaboli, 21 – 18, 21 – 12, before trouncing San Sebastian’s Kyle Villamor and Kerk Araño, 21 – 19, 21 – 18, to rise to solo second with a 4-0 record.

Mapua University moved up to the third spot with Cardinals Kenneth Eslapor and Marlowe Jamisola outlasting CSB 19 – 21, 21 – 18, 11 – 15 and Lyceum’s Collorado and Golloso, 21 – 18, 22 – 20, 15 – 11.

Arellano University’s Adrian Villados and Clarence Guinto also won both of their games as they defeated San Sebastian, 21 – 13, 21 – 17, and Letran’s Justine Alejandro and Christer Ambrosio, 21 – 8, 21 – 17, to tie along with Mapua at third with a 3-1 record.

On the other hand, San Beda University’s Josh Rus and Mohammad Tahiludin improved to 3-2 at solo fifth as they beat LPU and JRU’s Reggie Quilban and Janer Prado.

Meanwhile, CSB is at the sixth spot tying along them with the Knights with a 2-3 record. As for the Golden Stags, they dropped to a 1-3 record at eighth.
