Barbie Jamili completes transfer from FEU to Adamson

Barbie Jamili has found a new home.

The 19-year-old spiker out of Liloan, Cebu has transferred from Far Eastern University to Adamson University.

According to Adamson’s board of managing directors to the UAAP Fr. Aldrin Suan, OP, Jamili is enrolled for the second semester. She will be eligible for UAAP Season 86.

In a statement by Akari — the chief booster of Adamson’s women’s volleyball program, Jamili will be a vital cog in Jerry Yee’s team.V-League-2022-FEU-vs.-SSCR-Barbie-Jamili-2306 Barbie Jamili completes transfer from FEU to Adamson AdU FEU News UAAP Volleyball - philippine sports news

“Barbie will contribute as an RS, meaning receiver/spiker,” said Yee.

“It’s always a battle of who can receive the ball and contribute sa spikes better.”

Yee had a first-hand look at Jamili during the V-League and the Shakey’s Super League. During the games between the Lady Falcons and the Lady Tamaraws, Jamili totalled 21 points.

Earlier in the week, Akari also announced Jamili as their new brand ambassador.

“We’ve been helping young players for years now. From volleyball clinics to bringing pocket tournaments closer to the youth in different parts of the country, Akari’s mission has always been to be of assistance to promising talents as they fulfill their dreams,” said Akari Sports Director Russel Balbacal.

“Barbie joining Akari as ambassador and now as a Lady Falcon just goes to show our commitment to give chances to talented young athletes.”

Jamili, a product of Nazareth School of National University, played for FEU during the first semester but suddenly went home to Cebu and did not enroll in the second semester.

The 19-year-old was supposed to be one of the building blocks of Tina Salak’s FEU team.
