With Valdez still out, Galanza looks to step up as one of Creamline’s leaders

Jema Galanza bounced back from a rough season debut and steered Creamline to a dominant three-set victory over Cignal on Thursday night.

Coming off a six-point outing in the Cool Smashers’ opening day win over Petro Gazz, Galanza bounced back. She fired 13 points in their 25-16, 25-21, 25-15 win over the HD Spikers at the Filoil EcoOil Centre.

The native of Laguna said that she used her debut performance as motivation to recover. Galanza also admitted that she looks to be more consistent moving forward and work on everything she lacks during practices.

Kumbaga, hangga’t maari maging consistent ako, ma-less pa yung error ko at ng team,” said the 2019 PVL Open Conference MVP.

Besides working on being consistent, Galanza said that she plans on being more vocal inside the court especially now that their team captain Alyssa Valdez has yet to return to action.

Valdez is still recovering from a right knee injury she sustained last December.

Creamline will next face Choco Mucho on February 14, Tuesday at 6:30 PM.
