PVL: Kim Dy, F2 Logistics flatten Akari for 2-0 start

F2 Logistics handed Akari its second consecutive loss via sweep, 25-22, 25-23, 25-18 to make it back-to-back wins in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference, Saturday at the Philsports Arena.

Kianna Dy fired a game-high 17 points, all of which came from attacks, to help the Cargo Movers tie Creamline and Chery Tiggo at the top of the standings with identical 2-0 win-loss cards.

“I cannot say na they did not improve, they improved naman on some areas but syempre hindi ako pwedeng makuntento sa ganun lang. I want more from them, there are so many things that we have to improve,” said F2 Logistics head coach Regine Diego.

Myla Pablo added nine markers while Ivy Lacsina and Aby Marano had eight and six points, respectively, with three blocks each. Ara Galang collected three points, nine excellent digs, and six excellent receptions.

Kim Fajardo tossed 17 excellent sets to go along with two points while Dawn Macandili had 14 receptions and 13 digs.

“Galing din ni Akari, respect sa kalaban. Also, we have to improve talaga yung kumuha agad ng mas mabilis. We can’t wait for them to make more points para matalo kami, we have to be more aggressive pa but we’ll take the win,” Diego added.

After taking the first two sets, the Cargo Movers sustained its momentum through the third frame and buried the Chargers, 19-10, after a Lacsina quick.

Chiara Permentilla, who played her first game since tearing her left ACL last 2019, provided the spark for Akari and kick-started a 6-0 blast that trimmed F2 Logistics’ lead to just three points.

F2 Logistics will next face Chery Tiggo on Thursday at 4:00 PM (Philsports Arena) while Akari takes on Cignal on Tuesday also at 4:00 PM (Smart Araneta Coliseum).
