E2MAX on first win: ‘Nakakakaba pala manood kesa mag-laro’

Patrick “E2max” Caidic finally got his first win as Omega Esports’ assistant coach after the team made quick work of RSG Slate PH in the second week of the MPL Philippines Season 11 regular season on Friday.

The former Omega Esports team captain was elevated as assistant coach prior to the season after spending the last four years as a player.

E2max, who already played in numerous big-time matches like the MPL PH and MSC finals, said that watching the game was more nerve-wracking than playing the game on stage.

“Masaya ako syempre kasi first time ko ‘to as a coach tapos yun pala yung pakiramdam. Sobrang overwhelming,” he added.

Omega Esports dropped its first two assignments in the first week but managed to bounce back to open the second week after scoring a 2-0 sweep against the MPL Philippines Season Nine champion.

E2max said that the transition from being a player to a coach was pretty much easy for him considering that he served as the team’s captain since their days with Execration. That, for him, made the process more seamless as he has been doing it in-game before.

“Hindi naman po masyadong malaki yung adjustments pagdating sa nung captain ako tapos ngayon nag-transition ako into coach kasi yun nga before kasi nung player pa ako, parang usual na ginagawa ko na siya e,” said E2max.

The former Execration skipper also shared that his overall perspective of the game grew even bigger as he settled into his new role in Omega Esports.

E2max expressed his gratitude to the players and the management as well for trusting him and helping him transition into his new role.
