MDL PH: Echo leapfrogs Omega in Groub B


Echo Proud snatched away the leadership in Group B after routing Smart Omega Neos, 2-0, in Week 4 of the Mobile Legends Development League (MDL) Philippines Season 1 on Wednesday.

JanKurt Russel “Kurttzy” Matira and Jaypee “Jaypee” Dela Cruz took turns in the dominant sweep taking separate MVPs courtesy of 6-0-5 and 2-1-12 KDAs, respectively.

Echo (6-2) has now compiled 18pts entering the final two weeks of the inaugural season.

They sent Omega (6-3) to their third season loss that limited them to close second with 17pts.

Nexplay Evos Tiger Cubs also took the spotlight after scoring a 2-0 sweep of GameLab for their third season win.

It was GameLab’s third season loss but continued to hold on to the Group A top spot with 20pts. NXPE improved to seven points.

Blacklist Academy, on the other hand, secured their fifth season win courtesy of a 2-0 victory against Onic Arsenals.

Goldlaner Lee Howard “Owl” Gonzales went on a rampage taking 10 kills and 13 assists against two deaths in the two-game series.

TNC Neo closed out the day’s matches with a 2-1 reverse sweep of ZOL Esports to snap a four-game losing spell.
