Jia Morado, 5 others to take part in Korean V-League Asian Quota draft


The Korean Volleyball Federation (KOVO) have invited 24 women’s and 32 men’s players from neighboring Asian countries for a chance to be an Asian Quota Player in the V-League.

Six Premier Volleyball League players are set to be part of the online drafting festivities set to take place on April 21.

The V-League teams will be at the Grand Ballroom of the Stanford Hotel in Sangam.

Also in the draft are Dindin Santiago-Manabat of Akari, Mylene Paat of Chery Tiggo, Majoy Baron and Iris Tolenada of F2 Logistics, MJ Phillips of Petro Gazz.

There are also eight Thai, three Japanese, three Indonesian, two Taiwanese, and two Hong Kong-natives who are part of the draft.

Thailand’s Pornpun Guedpard is expected to be the top overall pick.

The Filipinos invited to the tryout are Marck Espejo, JP Bugaoan, and Manuel Sumanguid of Cignal; and Jau Umandal of Cotabato.

Nine players will come from Taiwan, seven from Indonesia, four from Mongolia, three from Japan, and one each from Hong Kong and Thailand.

The players selected from the tryout will then advance to the draft.

According to the report, Asian Quota players will have an annual salary of $100,000.
