Bryan Bagunas crowned TVL MVP


Bryan Bagunas has made history by becoming the first Filipino volleyball player to win a Most Valuable Player award overseas.

Bagunas was crowned as the Top Volleyball League’s MVP for its 2022-23 season after leading Win Streak to its first-ever championship in franchise history.

The 25-year-old outside hitter out of National University scored an impressive 520 points during the regular season, built on 453 attacks, 40 blocks, and 27 aces.

Win Streak tallied a 16-3 record in the regular season.

In the winner-take-all Game 3 last Monday, Bagunas tied his career-high of 42 points, powering Win Streak to a 19-25, 25-20, 18-25, 25-21, 15-12 victory over defending champion Pingtung.

Bagunas previously played for Oita Miyoshi in the V.League for three seasons.

The former UAAP MVP is set to return to the Philippines and play for Imus-Ivy Tuason Photography in the Spikers’ Turf on Friday.
