Gamber on Bahay: ‘He was already talking about coming to Ateneo’

Jared Bahay, Mason Amos, and Kyle Gamber had a mini Gilas Youth reunion on Tuesday night on Instagram Live.

Though the session was short, it sent social media buzzing.

After brief pleasantries by three of the top Filipino prospects in the high school ranks, Gambler asked Bahay.

“Jared! Yo, what’s up bro? Why did you switch schools on us bro? Not true bro,” Gamber, an Ateneo commit, said.

“That’s what I’m saying, why’d you switch?”

Bahay, who is a UP-commit, tried to change the subject by asking Amos if he was going home to Australia for the holidays.

“Come to Ateneo then we’ll go to Australia,” quipped Amos.

“We’re going to Australia,” added Gamber as the Blue Eagles will be heading to Australia again for its build-up to UAAP Season 86.

Gamber would ask Bahay once more afterward: “That’s what I’m saying bro, are you really committed to UP?”

To which Bahay replied, “Yes sir! UP Fight!”

Bahay, who is in Cebu, then left the session.

Gamber, who was the roommate of Bahay during the Asia Cup in Iran, though would wonder out loud, “He was already talking about coming to Ateneo.”

Amos only shook his head saying, “Bro, that’s messed up.”

Close were Gamber, Amos, Bahay, and Kristian Porter during Gilas’ campaign in the Asian Championship.

Gamber and Amos ended up in Ateneo while Porter transferred to Ateneo High School.

Come Season 86, Gamber and Amos will look to lead the Blue Eagles to a back-to-back.

“It’s going to be me and you Mason.”
