Demokite cites ‘personal issue’ in decision to skip MPL PH 11

Former RSG Slate Philippines juggler Jonard “Demonkite” Caranto finally broke his silence and candidly responded to fans during his livestream when asked about the reasons for missing the ongoing MPL Philippines season.

The Season 8 Rookie of the Season confirmed to a fan that it was indeed a personal issue that led to his decision and added how the frustration in Season 10 affected him deeply.

“Parang ganun (personal issue). Syempre frustrating matalo nang ganun no…Parang isang panalo na lang worlds na,” he said referring to the playoff defeat to Echo during the Season 10 lower bracket finals.

“Syempre dala ng frustration, parang nawalan ako ng gana maglaro. Ganun.

RSG finished third in Season 10 behind Echo, who went on to take the M4 World Championship in January of this year. According to Demonkite, the loss at the hands of Echo was just too much for him, so he decided to step away from the competitive scene.

“Laking epekto kasi non kasi di ba ano kami, MPL Season 9 Champion, MSC Champion. Tapos nag rookie (of the season) pa ko.

After Demonkite’s departure, RSG opted to add John Paul “H2wo” Salonga and recently John Darry “Irrad” Abarquez to address the hole in the jungler role. With Season 11 almost at its end and the playoffs set to open in less than two weeks, Demonkite will remain one of the most sought-after players in Season 12, owing to his versatile gameplay and wide hero pool that made RSG a formidable team from Seasons 8 to 10.
