ROS continues ‘ligang labas’ crackdown as Nambatac, Belga get suspensions

Rain or Shine’s investigation on the ‘ligang labas’ involvement of its players has resulted in the opening of a can of worms.

Beau Belga has received additional suspensions, while Rey Nambatac has also been punished by the Elasto Painters management.

Besides playing in an exhibition tournament in Cebu last weekend, Rain or Shine has caught Belga playing in unsanctioned games in Davao and Laguna.

It resulted in a total of 15 days of suspension without pay, which will amount to P210,000 in losses for the 15-year veteran.

Meanwhile, six-year vet Nambatac has also been caught participating in an exhibition game that resulted in a two-day suspension without pay.

It will cost Nambatac at least P23,000.

The PBA has also notified all its players that they are strictly prohibited from playing in tournaments outside of the league unless given clearance by their respective mother teams and the office of the commissioner.
