Ben Adamos hopes to be the big NLEX needs

Ben Adamos felt right at home right in his very first game with NLEX.

Adamos, who was shipped by Phoenix Super LPG to NLEX for Reden Celda and Tzaddy Rangel last week, immediately made an impact in his debut last Saturday against Magnolia.

The 6-foot-6 native of Albay, Bicol tallied 18 points, five rebounds, and a block in just 31 minutes of action in the Road Warriors’ 97-103 loss to the Hotshots.

And Adamos credited the familiarity he has with Frankie Lim’s system, which led to his outstanding debut.

“Higit pa sa 100-percent ang tiwala sa akin ni Coach Frankie. Matagal din kami nagsama ni Coach Frankie sa Perpetual dati kaya alam niya talaga yung laro ko,” Adamos said.

Adamos and Lim worked together from 2018 to 19 when the latter was still the head coach of the Atlas.

After Adamos was drafted in 2021, he had stops with Alaska and Phoenix.

Now in his third year, he fully knows how to be a pro.

“Two years na rin ako sa PBA kaya medyo na-prove ko na rin yung sarili ko. Siguro, challenge ko na rin sarili ko na tumagal pa ako laro rito,” he said.

Depleted has been NLEX’s frontline giving Adamos all the opportunities to shine there.

And he vows not to waste a single second given to him, hoping to be a Road Warrior for the rest of his career.

“Madami pa ako kailangan ayusin para tumagal ako dito kasi dito sa NLEX, alam ko na kailangan nila ako dahil kulang kami sa bigs.”
